PRIMARY PURPOSE / FUNCTION:

 

Direct and manage the operation of all financial and business affairs of the district including budgeting, accounting, purchasing, district wide PEIMS, and tax collection. Provide managerial direction and coordination under board policy guidelines to several key district functions.  Serve as the chief financial adviser to the deputy superintendent, superintendent and board of trustees. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education/Certification:

Certified Public Accountant’s Degree desirable

Master's degree in a business-related field or educational administration

Valid Texas mid-management certificate or other appropriate Texas certificate

TASBO Certification preferred

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Advanced technical knowledge of school finance, budgeting and accounting systems, and

  economics

Ability to resolve conflict, listen, and appropriately respond to concerns

Demonstrated leadership skills

Ability to manage budget and personnel

Ability to implement policy and procedures

Ability to interpret data

Working knowledge of information/data processing systems and financial applications

Personal computer skills, including word processing & spreadsheet applications

Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills

 

Experience:

Five years administrative or management experience

Five years experience with supervisory responsibility in the fields of finance or accounting
